CSOL 570 introduced the concept and principles of network security. It provided a conceptual construct of how to think about securing networks, how to translate this into basic architectural design, and then a survey of some component level considerations. It allowed us to take a deep dive into investigation topics within network security, which included: network visualization, network analysis, perimeter defense strategies, network monitoring, vulnerability detection, and security in mobile and wireless environments. As a professional in this field, it is crucial to ensure proper ethics are at play when utilizing the tools and applications in this course and in a professional environment.
